Our Focus
To Know Christ and Make Christ Known
Grace Church is a caring family-centered church that is founded on the Word of God, driven by prayer and has a vision to bring the saving grace of Jesus Christ to the city of Montreal. The city of Montreal is increasingly drifting away from God and marginalizing an absolute Creator at an alarming rate. There is a complete lack of moral awareness and consciousness among Montrealers and opposition to the Gospel has never been more apparent.
The vision for Grace Church of Lasalle is to take a proactive approach to Matthew 28:19,20 The Great Commission, and to become a beacon of light and hope to a dying world.
As the 'Body of Christ' (1 Cor.12:27), we intend to bring the Gospel of Christ where His name is not spoken, to proclaim where He is not heard, and to offer hope to the hearts that have none.

What We Believe
ASSOCIATED GOSPEL CHURCHES
Contemporary Statement of Faith
This is intended to be interpreted in light of the official Statement of Faith and Doctrine of the AGC, found on the AGC website.
We believe that the Bible is God speaking in mans language, and in the original writings is exactly as He gave it, word for word without any error whatsoever. It has been preserved by God to be the authoritative standard for every age and every life.
We believe that God exists in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that these three are eternal and are one. We also believe that God is the sole Creator of the universe.
We believe that Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man, that he was born of a virgin and that He lived a sinless life, in which He taught and did mighty works and signs exactly as revealed in the four gospels. We believe that He was crucified, dying as a penalty for our sins and was bodily raised from the dead on the third day as the Scriptures declare. Later, He ascended to heaven where He is Head of the Church and interceded for believers. From there He will come again personally and bodily and visibly to this earth to set up an earthly kingdom, afterward to reign forever as King in His universe.
We believe that all are sinners and are guilty before God, and as such are worthy of both physical and spiritual death.
We believe that since in His death the Lord Jesus Christ satisfied all the demands of Gods law, redeeming mankind by shedding His blood and assuming our curse, men and women can have a just standing before God. That is, they can become true Christians. The single basis for this standing is the death of Jesus Christ and an individuals personal faith in Him.
We believe that salvation with its forgiveness of sins, includes the receiving of a new nature and the assurance of eternal life. It is entirely apart from good works such as baptism or church membership, but is purely by Gods grace.
We believe that a true believer cannot ever forfeit his standing with God. However, sin may interrupt the joy of his fellowship with God and bring the discipline of a loving Heavenly Father.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, that He is God and has all the attributes of God. We also believe that He lives in all believers and that by His ministry every Christian is made to be part of Gods eternal family, is marked off as truly Gods possession, and is specifically and uniquely gifted for Christian service. The Holy Spirit also fills or empowers the believer, in response to confession of sin and yieldedness, then He teaches and guides the believer for effective Christian service.
We believe that all genuine believers are part of the true Church, which in Scripture is referred to as the body of Christ, and that a local church is intended to be a visible expression of this body.
We believe that Christians who die, depart to be with Christ in conscious blessedness. Someday Jesus will come again to take away His living people from the earth. Then, all Christians will have glorified bodies similar to His resurrected body and share in His glory. They will reign with Him forever.
We believe that Satan is a personality, the arch enemy of God and our defeated foe.
We believe that those who refuse the offer of Gods gracious gift of salvation are doomed to suffer eternal conscious separation from Him.

Our Elders
BRAD'S BIO (TEACHING PASTOR)
I was born in Lexington, Kentucky. It was at the age of 4 that I truly exhibited the faith of a child and experienced true grace by accepting Christ as my personal Savior. I moved to Quebec when I was 11 years old as a missionary kid of parents who loved the Lord and wished to see His Word reach "the ends of the earth". I spent my teenage years on the South Shore of Montreal where I remained until the age of 18, at which time I decided to attend the Word of Life Bible Institute in upstate New York.
The years between 1999 and 2005 proved to be formative years in my life. During that time I married Melissa my high school sweetheart in 2001, completed my undergraduate work in Pastoral Studies at Lancaster Bible College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2002, and started my graduate work through correspondence at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, which I completed in the Fall of 2008. Prior to my enrollment at Lancaster Bible College and during those formative years I felt an extreme burden for full-time ministry but nowhere in all my plans did that ministry include Montreal. God had other plans.
My intentions were to become a Youth Pastor or Associate Pastor somewhere in the New England area so my wife and I could be closer to family. As time went on, I realized that there was a definite need for churches in the U.S., but it seemd that there were too many workers. What got me thinking about coming to Montreal was great counsel from those close to me and a great degree of personal time with the Lord as I prayed seeking Gods wisdom and poured through His Word. One such time was when I read through Romans 15:20, where Paul talks about going to preach the Gospel where Christ did not go. I knew God was tugging on my heart to go back to the place I grew up, and felt the thrill of establishing a ministry in an unevangelized area such as Montreal. After all, my wife and I knew the language, the culture, and the need was so great. It was evident that God wanted my wife and I there.
It was in July of 2005 that I took on the full-time pastorate at Grace Church of Lasalle and haven't looked back for even a second. Since then God has blessed Melissa and I with Lucas and Lauren, our two beautiful children, as well as a regularly renewed joy at Grace Church and a constant passion for Montreal. For me, Grace Church is not only a fellowship of wonderful reproducing disciples of Christ and my second home, but also a beacon of light that reflects the very grace of God that our name suggests.

Synergy is the youth group of Grace Church! Synergy means "the working together of two or more people when the result is greater than the sum of their individual capabilities". This is how we want to be: working together for God's kingdom and for His glory!
"Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity."
-1 Timothy 4:12

Seeking God
How do I find God?
God's Purpose: A Perfect Relationship with Him
The only reason you are alive today is because God loves you and He created you to have a personal relationship with Him
The Bible Says...
Genesis 1:26-27
26 Then God said, "Let us make people in our image, to be like ourselves. They will be masters over all life--the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the livestock, wild animals, and small animals."
27 So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them.
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Our Problem: Separation from God
God created you with the ability to make choices. When Adam and Eve had a choice to obey God or eat the forbidden fruit, they willfully chose to disobey God. At that point, sin entered the human existence. You sin whenever you miss the mark. Sin changed your relationship with God and made you his enemy. Every human being is born with an inclination to sin - a sin nature. We never have to teach our kids how to sin - they do it naturally.
The Bible Says...
Romans 3:23
23 For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard.
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
From the beginning of time, humans have tried to build a bridge to God. You try to do good things, you try to be good citizens, and you try to be religious.
The Bible Says...
Proverbs 14:12
12 There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.
Isaiah 59:2 2
But there is a problem--your sins have cut you off from God. Because of your sin, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.
God's Gift: The Cross
Because God loves you and desires to have a personal relationship with you, He made available a perfect atoning sacrifice to bridge such a gap between us and an all holy God. God sent His only son Jesus Christ to live a perfect life on this earth. Even though Jesus never sinned, he was killed by the religious leaders of His day and hung on a cross. Why? When Jesus died, He became a sacrifice for your sin. He died on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, paying your sin debt and bridging the gap between God and humanity.
The Bible Says...
Timothy 2:5
5 For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and people. He is the man Christ Jesus.
Peter 3:18a
18 Christ also suffered when he died for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners that he might bring us safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.*
Romans 5:8
8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
Your Response: Receive God's Gift
A gift always demands a response. When you are presented with a gift, you have a choice - turn it down or accept it. Jesus' sacrifice is God's gift to you. All you must do is make a choice - Are you going to receive God's gift and experience a God-directed life on earth and eternal life in heaven? Or will you turn His gift away? The choice is yours because God will not force you.
The Bible Says...
John 1:12
12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
How Do I Receive God's Gift of Jesus Christ?
It is not our good works that saves us (Titus 3:5) nor baptism (1 Peter 3:21) but salvation from God's just punishment comes only from believing in your heart and confessing Christ as Savior (Romans 10:9).
If you have never made this appeal before God, now is the time. God is a just God, but He is also a forgiving and merciful God that desires that all come to Him for salvation.
Welcome
If you invited Jesus into your life, congratulations! You are now a follower of Christ and will live with Him for eternity.
By faith you have accepted Him into your heart and will want to express that faith and love through fellowship and worship. Please contact me, Brad Mellette, at bmellette@gracechurchoflasalle.com for questions and follow up.
