I was born in Lexington, Kentucky. It was at the age of 4 that I experienced true grace by accepting Christ as my personal Savior. I moved to Québec when I was 11 years old as a missionary kid of parents who loved the Lord and wished to see His Word reach "the ends of the earth". I decided at the age of 18 to attend Word of Life Bible Institute in upstate New York with the person that is now my wife, a native of Montréal. I never had plans to go into fulltime ministry let alone move back to Montréal. God had other plans. Now married, I went on to graduate from Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania with the intentions of becoming a Youth Pastor or Associate Pastor somewhere in the New England area. As time went on, I realized that there was a definite need for churches in the U.S., but the situation was that there were too many workers. These few churches had their pick of whomever they wanted.
What got me thinking about coming to Montréal was a series of personal time with the Lord as I poured through God’s Word. One such time was when I read through Romans 15:20, where Paul talks about going to preach the Gospel where Christ did not go. I knew God was tugging on my heart to go back to the place I grew up, and felt the thrill of establishing a ministry in an unevangelized area such as Montréal. After all, I knew the language, the culture, and the need was so great. It was evident that God wanted my wife and I there.
For a year, my wife and I prayed and let God take care of the planning as He opened up the door to Grace Church. I am now working on my Masters through the modular courses at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and working as full-time pastor of Grace Church of Lasalle, Québec. It is completely evident that this was God's plan for us all along as He gently led us to this point in our lives.
